Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Visits Patina Brewing
Port Coquitlam B.C.— December 14, 2024– Yesterday, Patina Brewing had the honor of welcoming the Right Honorable Justin Trudeau for a surprise visit. The Prime Minister spent over an hour engaging with customers, chatting with staff, and learning more about Patina Brewing’s craft beer offerings and community-driven initiatives.
During his visit, Prime Minister Trudeau purchased a six-pack of Patina’s Collaboration Beer with the Kwikwetlem First Nation and a four-pack of the brewery’s signature Hazy IPA. His interest in local businesses and cultural collaborations shone through as he asked thoughtful and insightful questions about Patina’s operations, growth, and partnerships.
“He was friendly, curious, and genuinely interested in our business,” said Sarah Harbord, Director of Operations at Patina Brewing. “He took the time to speak with our team and customers, and his questions showed a real understanding of what small businesses like ours mean to the community.”
The visit coincided with Patina Brewing’s recently launched GST Matching Program, which doubles the federal government’s GST cut, giving customers 10% total savings on every purchase. This program reflects Patina’s commitment to supporting the local community and offering value to its customers during the holiday season.
This isn’t the first time Patina Brewing has had the privilege of hosting political leaders. Premier David Eby chose Patina as a stop to kick off his leadership campaign, and the brewery has also welcomed many local and Indigenous leaders over the years. “At Patina, we believe in supporting those who step up to serve our communities, our province, or our country—regardless of their political stripes,” said Harbord. “We want to be a place where people of all backgrounds and affiliations feel welcome to connect and engage.”
The Collaboration Beer purchased by Prime Minister Trudeau represents one of Patina’s most meaningful initiatives. Crafted in partnership with the Kwikwetlem First Nation, the brew highlights the brewery’s dedication to fostering cultural collaboration and giving back to the community.
As the GST Matching Program continues through February 15, 2025, Patina Brewing is looking forward to serving even more guests, offering great savings, and contributing to its vibrant local community.
