B.C. Patina Brewing Company is partnering with SHARE Family & Community Services Society Food Bank to put food on the table. During this unprecedented crisis in our community Patina Brewing Company and SHARE will come together to raise funds for the Food Bank. On Thursday April 9, 15% of all revenue from Patina will go towards the food bank. In addition, Erin and Greg Moore will match the donation for a total donation of 30% of all revenue.
With record unemployment in our community, the Covid-19 crisis will affect lower income residents the hardest. The food bank might be the only way that individuals are able to put food on their table. Erin Moore, Patina Brewing Co. owner comments: “As we have seen communities across the country come together to support our health care workers, in addition to this wonderful support, we want to ensure that everyone can put food on their table.”
Patina Brewing Company has also been hard hit by this crisis, after only opening their doors for two weeks they had to convert their business model to take out and delivery through UberEats. Moore goes on to say “although this has been a hard time for Patina, we know that there are individuals in our community that are struggling to put food on their table and we want to do our part to help.”
Patina and SHARE have reached out to community leaders to volunteer their time to deliver southern barbecue and craft beer to people’s doorsteps. So far, community leaders such as Greg and Erin Moore, former Mayor of Port Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam Councillor Glenn Pollock, Laura Dupont, Nancy McCurrach and Steve Darling, Mike Clay, former Mayor of Port Moody, Donna White of the Terry Fox Foundation, Dawn Becker, Chair of Port Coquitlam Foundation, Jennifer McKinnon, the Executive Director of the Port Coquitlam BIA, Michael Hind, CEO of Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, Gaye Sims, President of Rotary Club of Port Coquitlam, are just some of the volunteer deliver drivers.
Claire MacLean, CEO of SHARE Society comments: “It is wonderful to see the community come together during this crisis. SHARE’s Food Bank is a vital support to thousands of families, seniors and members of the TriCities. Together we can help.”
