ABOUT PATINA
Born from the shared vision of founders Erin and Greg Moore, Patina embodies the heart and spirit of their hometown, Port Coquitlam. Deeply connected to their community, their dream was to establish more than just a business. Patina is their testament to community – a place for people to gather, to connect, and to feel a sense of belonging, they brought to life a concept that merges exceptional culinary experiences with a welcoming community-focused atmosphere.
At Patina, we are a neighborhood brewery with a larger purpose. Not only do we take pride in creating outstanding craft beer and serving up delicious BBQ, but we are also deeply committed to cultivating a close-knit community. Patina’s mission, at its core, is about creating connections and fostering togetherness in our community.
We first opened our doors in Port Coquitlam with Patina Brewing’s flagship location, where we have been gratefully embraced by the local community. As we look to the future, we eagerly anticipate expanding our reach and becoming a beloved gathering place in new communities as well.
Come and discover Patina, a home for community spirit, artisan brews, amazing BBQ and a space where everyone wants to be. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Advocating for Living Wages
At Patina, our foundational value is community centric. It’s this core principle that drives our decisions. In a daring deviation from the standard practices of the hospitality industry, we’re committed to striving towards paying a Living Wage.
We recognize the importance of a Living Wage in Port Coquitlam, which allows for a decent standard of living. While we initially start our team members at a competitive wage that’s higher than the minimum wage, we aim to progressively adjust this to approach the living wage standard within their tenure at Patina. On average, our staff earn a wage that’s 26% higher than the minimum wage. This commitment to fair pay is a testament to the value we place on our team members and our community.
We also believe in the power of exceptional service and appreciate the rewards it brings in the form of tips. In our view, tips are a way to recognize extraordinary service that goes beyond expectations. If you experience such service, feel free to express your appreciation through kind words, social media acknowledgments, and if you’d like, a gratuity.
When these gratuities are factored in, our team members’ earnings far surpass the Living Wage threshold, reflecting the exceptional service they provide. However, at Patina, we see gratuities as a bonus, not a requirement – they’re never expected but always appreciated.
In essence, Patina is a place where expectations are exceeded, and where our commitment to strive for a Living Wage sets a distinctive standard in the hospitality industry.
